Fiesch: gateway to the Aletsch Arena
Fiesch is the closest village to LuxLax and the most important departure point for the Aletsch Arena. From Fiesch the gondola runs to Fiescheralp (2,212 m) and onwards to the Eggishorn (2,927 m) — the highest and most spectacular viewpoint over the Aletsch Glacier.
The village has a good range of facilities: supermarkets, bakery, butcher, restaurants, doctor, dentist, pharmacy/drugstore, sports shop and a train and bus station. Fiesch is reachable by train from Lax within 5 minutes. Lax station is a 5-minute walk from LuxLax.

Eggishorn: viewpoint above Fiesch
Take the gondola from Fiesch to the Eggishorn (2,927 m) for the most spectacular view of the Aletsch Glacier. On clear days you can see the glacier stretching 23 km, plus the Matterhorn, Weisshorn, Jungfrau, Eiger and Mönch and dozens of other peaks. The gondola departs from Fiesch, reachable by train from Lax in 5 minutes.
