Skiing in the Aletsch Arena
The Aletsch Arena combines three car-free mountain resorts – Fiescheralp, Bettmeralp and Riederalp – into one of the most remarkable ski areas in Switzerland. 100 kilometres of slopes at altitudes between 1,500 and 2,869 metres, with guaranteed snow cover well into April. And the best part: from LuxLax (5 minutes on foot) to Lax station, you reach the area by gondola in just 30 minutes.

Safety
- Take the free paper piste map with you, including emergency numbers
- Adapt your speed and skiing style to how busy the slope is
- Never stop in blind corners or on narrow sections of the slope where you are hard to see
- Offer help if a skier is in trouble
- The skier in front of or below you has right of way; whoever comes from behind does not
- Do not drink alcohol on the slopes

Fiescheralp – the home base
Fiescheralp is the closest ski resort for guests of LuxLax. Train (5 minutes) and gondola bring you to 2,212 metres altitude in less than 20 minutes (door to door). From there you have direct access to the full ski area.
Fiescheralp offers: a snow-guaranteed fun park for snowboarders, children's slopes and ski school, ski and snowboard rental, mountain restaurants with sun terrace and direct connection to Bettmeralp and Riederalp.

Sleighing run (13 km)
The sleighing slope from Fiescheralp to Fiesch is 13 kilometres long and ends literally at the door of LuxLax. Spectacular and unforgettable for children.
Cross-country skiing
The Obergoms (the valley, which runs from Lax to Oberwald) is one of the best cross-country skiing areas in the Alps. Approximately one hundred kilometers of trails in the valley and on the alp, for classic and skating style.
Snowshoeing
A 12 km snowshoe route leads through the quiet winter landscape around Lax and Fiesch. No experience needed: snowshoes are available for hire in Fiesch and the route is marked.
